hello world

Meet Kenta Ogawa . He usually writes his name in kanji, like this 小川 健太.
He's wearing UNIQLO shirt and hoodie, Pivot pants and ABC Mart shoes. Kenta's not into fashion but he is into Pivot, a shop in Sapporo. The last time he shopped he bought a hat from Right On.

this world's not so bad after all.

After reading this NYT article, I started think that maybe my friend Sanch was right about how much a society can change in one generation. Sometimes my cynical side devours all of my optimism and I guess all it takes is a mere two page article to restore my hope in humans. That is why I love journalism

laying down the law

Before today, I don't think I knew that that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) existed. Did you? Either way, I'm delighted to learn that the FTC will soon modify its endorsement regulations so they extend to bloggers and other online preachers. Next month, bloggers will have to state whether they are in some way endorsed as well as give accurate reviews that reflect their views and not those of an endorser. Those who do not adhere to FTC regulations will be subject to fine...and rightfully so! Read the FTC guidelines if you have some time to kill they are extensive and interesting. I skimmed it and decided that as a consumer, I'm elated! I hate being deceived and/or mislead by reviews. I just wonder what the FTC will do with the revenue it gets from fines...

waiting for some words to jump at me.

I don't know what's wrong with me but lately I can't write. I haven't lost my desire to write I just don't have much to say. But I will say this, Sara Arai's collection was the highlight of Japan Fashion Week. After looking at her collection I wanted to know more so I looked up the brand description  and this is what came up:

Arai, brought up in Beijing, graduated from Fashion College Sakuragaoka. After her  debut in China, she moved to Tokyo to set up her own label. Her made-to-order clothes are of extreme comfort and beautiful lines. Since 1998, she has also been working as a stylist for celebrities. In 2005, she opened her flagship shop in Mejiro, Tokyo and started sales of her couture products. Arai started her prêt-à-porter line araisara in 2008, to express the connection between traditional oriental culture and fashion.

she's amazing.
